Mom and Dad in Paris

This is my favourite one. When Mom saw Paris from up the hill at Montmartre she cried and Dad also and they and we all were happy. Really happy. Monica took all the pictures (the link goes to the photos on her site).

It meant for me a lot that my parents took the trouble to come and visit me and it was wonderful that Monica was there as well. Just a little bit sad that Crissie could not come.

France

Paris under siège. Is it really La République en danger?

Students burning books at la Sorbonne... call it gap between generations, East European attachment to the good, old printed word or just reaction of a bourgeoise and old fashioned creature but the events this last week in France make me furious.

I wanted to write about spring, sun, longing of being in love and than I took a look to the newspapers and got again furious.

So I will be back with nice photos with mom and dad visiting me in Paris (one of the most beautiful of my life) and with Paris blooming and la Seine more romantic as ever.

As soon as get a little bit calmer and ... maybe, wiser.

Happy New Year

It has been too long since I last wrote you and here I am wishing you all the best.
Little things occurred every day and I did start the new year hoping for the best, whatever this might be.

I was so happy to
rediscover Paris and its surroundings through the eyes of my sisters between Christmas and New Year's Eve. When I take the time to walk across the city and actually to look around I enjoy it tremendously (especially when Monica and Cristina are at my side).

The New Year's Eve we went to the Theatre Mogador to a show of Snow Lake. Enchanting music and strong message. But... is it so rough to be different? Does normality dooms us to death?

Had a wonderful time afterwards at Anne’s and a lot of champagne.

I took several decisions for this year: I will learn German (do not laugh this time I will do it properly), I will do some sport (be it just walking to Sacre Coeur) and I will definitely not let myself dragged through life: CONCENTRATION AND ACTION.

So how were your holidays? Did you have the time to enjoy dears ones, recall some past Christmas memories and look forward to new ones?

PS. The photos were taken by Monica

Drei Mädchen Hause

some German for old times sake and to please a little bit my father. This week end I had the most beautiful time. Monica and Cristina joined me in Paris for three days.

As they know Paris more or less we acted more like "natives" and less tourists. Therefore: hairdresser, shopping on Rivoli and most of all they decorated my house. As Ioana gave me a coach, a table and a lot of other little thing
s, Florence gave me a washing machine I really needed to put some order in my 28 square meters. And it was done in less than a day. A new "penderie", a lot of lamps and it looks like the most adorable little nest.

As Monica's mission was also to calm Mom's fears about my place in Paris she took a lot of pictures. Here are some with the little garden in front of my apartment. It looks rather nice and I really enjoyed during the summer reading a book or sipping a glass of wine on the benches.
Afterwards we took a scroll on Montmartre as it was the feast of the wine with Anne and improvised a cheese -wine picknick on the stairs of Sacré Coeur. And we did not succumb to the temptation of these sweets.
